It's been a while since my last post, so here's a little summary of what's been going on in our lives..
So....Alana's last day of preschool is today and they are throwing a little "farewell party" for her. They are making her favorite "strawberry cupcakes" and I think they have other fun things in store for her that I'll hear about later. This past week I was trying to think of some creative party favors for the kids and something special for her teachers. I didn't want to do the typical candy, cheapo toys in a gift bag which I would probably spend too much money on just to have most of them end up in the garbage anyways. So as we were browsing through Michaels craft store, (yesterday, last minute of course) I got an idea that we would decorate little flower pots and personalize them and then put some dirt and flower seeds in a baggy for them to grow :) I got two larger ones for the teachers and 18 tiny ones for the kids (.39 each) Alana helped me paint them and I personalized each of them with her friend's names. For the teachers, I wrote a special poem on the pot and Alana signed her name. They turned out really cute and I'm quite proud of them. I hope the kids and teachers enjoy them and appreciate the special thought that went into them! I'll post a picture of them as soon as I can find my camera cord!
The move to Georgia is approaching quickly and we are getting more excited each day that goes by! Everytime someone asks me "how's the packing coming along?" it makes me more thankful that we have mover's doing it all for us!! I've moved enough times to know that it is NOT fun! We leave here on the 21st or 22nd (depending on when we finish cleaning the apt. after the mover's leave) and then we'll be spending the remaining of the month in Rochester with family. From there, we'll be taking an eventful 15 hour+ drive to Georgia :) I think "eventful" is probably the kindest word I could use to describe driving that long with the two girls. We're going to try our best to stay positive though! Please keep us in prayer for all of our upcoming traveling and that the lord keeps us safe :)
pics to come soon!
